CLC tennis finshes in 26th place at the NJCAA Division I National Championships in Plano, Texas.
The Lancers competed against the country's best last week and have now closed the book on a successful 2017 season. At the National Championships, the Lancers battled against the odds but were unable to come away with any match wins.
The team received high praise from their peers as they were complimented on their play and their sportsmanship for the duration of the tournament, as they also offered their support for their fellow Illinois teams that had also qualified.
Head coach Jim Love says the team is already making plans on how to improve for next season and are hungry for a return trip to the national tournament.
"The team realized how tough the tournament is and they are ready to start tomorrow to do better next year," Love said. "Five of our starts are returning and are ready to work all year to improve."
"We will now watch the teams who have beaten us to learn what they do to be successful on and off the court."
