The College of Lake County Men's team opened their 2017 season at the 26th Annual Ken Weidt Cross Country Classic hosted by Concordia Wisconsin University on Saturday, September 9th.

The Lancer men placed 5th and just two points out of 4th in the twelve-team race. CLC, the only community college in an all NCAA / NAIA field, was led by freshman Jeremy Wallace who placed 8th in 28:11 over the 8K course.

The other scorers for CLC were Cameron Detweiler who placed 30th in 29:53, Jeffery Meverden was 31st in 29:58, Frederick Mascorro was 33rd in 30:07 and Michael Schonter was 38th in 30:31.

Also competing were Tyler GlassmanNicholas ZblewskiChris Williams, and Oscar Arteaga.

Head Coach Jorge Colin noted, "This was an encouraging start from a very young team, I'm proud of the poise and execution they all demonstrated. The college race is two miles longer than high school and it demands higher mileage now and in pre-season training. We will see improved times as we move forward."
