The College of Lake County Women's Cross Country team opened their season at the 26th Annual Ken Weidt Cross Country Classic hosted by Concordia Wisconsin University on Saturday, September 9th.
In the women's 6K race, the Lancers placed 9th out of 14 teams. CLC was led by freshman standout Cindy Alcala who placed 34th in 26:42.
Also scoring for CLC were Paloma Alcala who placed 57th in 29:42, Stephanie Paredes was 58th in 30:02, Jacqueline Betancourt was 61st in 30:52, and Sophia Martinez 76th in 32:46. Linda DeLaFuente also competed for the Lancers.
"Our women are working very hard every day and the results of that hard work will be evident when it matters most," said Coach Colin. "I am very proud of the effort from these young women."
Next up for the Lancer harriers is a visit to UW Whitewater next Saturday for the Annual Tom Hoffman Invitational.
